OSSIPEE — Sap House Meadery in Center Ossipee has finished an eight-month renovation project and has opened New Hampshire’s first Mead Pub.
Ash Fischbein and Matt Trahan, co-owners, are serving the world’s oldest fermented beverage either by the glass or in a cocktail, along with craft beers, wines and locally procured edibles at their newly renovated tasting room.
“The concept is essentially a blend of a winery tasting room, a local pub and a tapas bar, all rolled into one. You can come in and try a free tasting flight of the meads we produce here, order a few drinks or grab some cheese boards and tacos,” Fischbein said.
According to Trahan: “We have been crafting and sampling our meads here in Center Ossipee for almost five years. People would come through the door, taste and learn about mead and generally have a great time.
