B. Nektar Meadery (Ferndale, MI) was issued its Michigan Small Winemakers license on May 12th, 2008. This is the final step in the long process before we are legally able to produce wine.We expect our first batch (Wildberry Pyment) to hit the shelves at the end of July. Additional batches (released beginning in the fall) include Cinnamon Vanilla (silver medal winner at 2007 NHC), Oaked Orange Blossom, and Tupelo.
Our raspberry and buckwheat meads will be going into the fermenters this month and will be available early next year. We are also aging some special meads that will only be available at the meadery and on our website. These meads currently include a Bourbon Barrel mead (made with Orange Blossom and Buckwheat honey), and a Pineapple Coconut mead (made with Orange Blossom honey).
The meadery is open to visitors by appointment.More information is available at www.bnektar.com Visitors are encouraged to sign-up for the B. Nektar newsletter to hear more about our latest releases and where to get them.About B. Nektar:B. Nektar makes honey wine, commonly known as mead.
