Adding spiced tea to secondary

Can you add tea (spiced tea in my case for flavor) to the secondary to help clarify a mead? I know it is advised to add during primary but adding to taste to the secondary would make more sense to me. Especially when mixing with fruit juices.

I was going to add it sometime before bottling but if it would help to clarify and add a spiced flavor to taste then this would be helpful.
