I've indoctrinated a new brew buddy. ;D She got a recipe for a rye IPA, and it went thusly...
About 3 gallons in the fermenter at the end
9 lbs pale malt
1.5 lbs rye malt
1.5 lbs dark munich
3/4 lb cara amber
3/8 lb cara pils
~5 gallons of water for the mash
Collected first runnings only, 4ish gallons SG ~ 1.062 pre-boil, ~1.070 post-boil
1/2 oz Chinook first wort hop
1/3 oz Chinook 60 min
1/3 oz Columbus + 1/3 oz Willamette 10 min
1/2 oz Willamette + 1/2 oz Chinook + 1 oz Citra dry hop
Wyeast 1056
Fermented pretty darn cold, ~60 F. Dry hopping now, will bottle in a week or so.
