A while ago i did a search on mead or recipies or something about mead and I came across a website that had instructions on making mead. It went a little like this.

Must preperation, pitch yeast, primary fermentation, rack to secondary, brew and drink beer, rack mead again, brew and drink beer, rack mead, brew and drink beer, rack your mead, brew and drink beer, bottle your mead.

This dosen't ring true at all does it???? ;D

Thats pretty funny! Besides the fact that i dont typically rack my meads 4 times...that scenario actually does ring pretty true for me. I usually will bottle a mead when its about 8-10 months old and wont start drinking it till its about 12-14. In that same time i probably make about 4-5 batches of beer!

true i don't rack that much , but i was digging deep in the memory banks for that one and don't remeber exactly how it went. But it really does give newbies an idea of how long mead takes

snicker.. I'm not a big beer person but my first cyser is enjoyable in about the time it would take for beer. So that will have to be my in between or other light batches 1.05-1.09 og to start. Make Mead, make cycer, mess with mead, make memlomel, drink cycer, mess with mead... YUP! think i like this logic!

I just started a braggot in a one gallon batch. The recipe I use is 4 cups raw honey, 1/2 pound of medium spray barley malt a pinch of hopps and a quarter teaspoon of citric acid. I use coopers brewers yeast. Looks good so far and I'll keep ya posted
