I know its not mead, but I was just in Indy and tried a wonderful honey wheat.

I had it at Bazbeaux Pizza, which makes a great thin crust, artisinal pie. This is a bit of an aside, but I had a pesto, fresh goat cheese, caramelized onion, roasted red pepper, and cajun chicken pizza. 2nd best pizza I have ever had. But the beer was a real find.

So, many years ago, when I lived in CA I used to drink Humpback Honey Wheat. I cant find it any more, but if you are familiar with that, this has that kind of honey character, very pronounced. The Hoosier honey wheat comes in at 7%, so its a bit on the strong side alcohol-wise. There is a noticeable sweetness to it with clove and banana flavors. Not much of a head. Id love to know how much honey they put in. It looks like you can only get it in Indiana currently, so now Im a bit sad I didnt go to a store and pick up a case or two.
