Hard Science of Hydrogen sulfide (H2S)

I've spent a lot of time trying to understand how H2S gets produced by yeast and lees so that I can keep it out of my meads. Now some pointy headed scientists have gone and discovered that H2S may have an effect similar to Viagra. The story is HERE.

Instead of gulping oysters, maybe I just need to eat rotten eggs and to drink stinky mead (I have no problem producing that)!

There is no substitute for HARD science! ;D

I still think it's funny that Viagra was developed as to treat hypertension and cardiovascular disease. Pfizer never thought anyone would be interested that pesky little side effect as a primary use!
