Hello,

Was quite a while since I wrote anything here. But I wanted to let everyone know that I'm in the process of exporting mead to the US. I expect they'll be available sometime in November.

Maybe this is a bit of a shameless plug, but it's pretty exciting I think, and it's a direct result of my attendance at Mazer Cup this year.

It's five different meads that I'm exporting to the US:

Le Vin de Miel - Dry traditional mead made from white clover/raspberry honey
http://www.mjodhamnen.se/index.php?...task=productdisplay&product_ID=1045&Itemid=34

Surr och Brak - Off-dry traditional mead made from rapeseed/elder buckthorn honey
http://www.mjodhamnen.se/index.php?...task=productdisplay&product_ID=1051&Itemid=34

Fruktad Flyt - Semi-sweet traditional mead made from autumn wildflower honey
http://www.mjodhamnen.se/index.php?...task=productdisplay&product_ID=1046&Itemid=34

Höst i Vänge - Sweet traditional mead made from autumn wildflower honey
http://www.mjodhamnen.se/index.php?...task=productdisplay&product_ID=1047&Itemid=34

Lingonlunda - Blend of a semi-sweet lingonberry mead and a dry traditional mead
(Haven't released information on this mead on my website yet)

They're imported by Shelton Brothers, who are based in MA, but co-operate with distributors in 47 states.

Anyone who is interested in them could contact Lauren Shepard at Shelton Brothers lauren@sheltonbrothers.com and she could figure out how to get them to you.

Johan, personally I think that you should work a deal with Orrefors (or another glass company) to produce a special, ultra-rare container for one of your very best meads.

That would tie in the "quality crystal" upscale market with mead - and that could be a good thing.

Of course not only do I have to wait a decade, but you'll need to make sure that you can export the finished product! ;D

Well, who knows what will be possible in the future. Maybe we can get by customs and national limits by fancy distribution techniques if you help design: a mini-rocket with programmable destination, designed specifically to fit for these exclusive handmade glass bottles. The rocket launches into space with the bottle (I doubt customs have a beef with that). The reciever can then 'call back' the rocket and recieve it (cleaning up space trash isn't a crime).

Anyway... Information regarding Lingonlunda is now up as well.

I also uploaded the US labels in case someone wants to look at them:

If Wayne invents a rocket delivery system for you, I hope the special crystal bottle will be modeled after a rocket ship! I want one!

Hey, if you can arrange a launch at Esrange (Kiruna), then maybe we can work something out! ;-)

Exporting Mead

I just shipped a bottle of "live yeast culture" from Montana to Tennessee and found it to be an enterprise not entered into lightly! WOW for sticker shock! If I hadn't said I would, I wouldn't have! Is there a cheaper way?
