Getting mead from other states

I want to get our brew club's annual beer festival to include mead. What kinds of hurdles will I run into trying to get meadaries outside of Wisconsin to ship here or to show their products for us?

Does mead have a tiered distribution like beer?

Anyone know what distributors handle mead, or is it the same ones as beer?

There are many other questions I have, but these are a start.

Maybe one more question ... What enticements would a meadary like to see to encourage them to participate?
 
Mead is legally classified as a wine, so you can get it shipped to you in most cases. Some online retailers carry meads, or you can buy directly from the meadery (depending on the state it's in). Luckily WI seems to have pretty sane wine shipping laws so there shouldn't be problems sending it to your home or business address.

Try Redstone, Rabbit's Foot, B Nektar, Long Island, and Fox Hill. Not sure about international shipping laws but Intermiel is in Canada.
