The Kirkwood Winery is a small winery and boutique distillery in West Virginia. They make two products called mead, but they are in fact "meades" (grape wine with honey). The two products are a white wine and red wine with honey respectively called "Seyval Mead" and "Royal Blush Mead". I will post a full review on the Royal Blush Mead in a week or so, once I have time to open the bottle and give it a proper testing. I did taste both products at the winery and wrote down my impressions. Personally, I found the seyval mead to be very sharp, harsh and tasted strongly like a chardonnay(which I dispise). The royal blush tasted much milder and more balanced, but the grape flavor was still quite clear. But either one was better than BunRatte, so thats dfinately in their favor.
While it is not mead, I have to say that kirkwood winery makes some AMAZING raspberry wine. Definately one of the best raspberry wines that I have ever had. I bought several bottles, and kinda wished I had gotten more.
