Nope, that's no typo. I just picked up 6 22oz bottles of Lukcy Basartd Ale from Stone Brewing Company today. All I can say is it's 8.5% ABV, and quite possibly my favorite beer from them. If you have a chance to buy a bottle, do it. They probably aren't making any more, since it was to celebrate the lucky 13 years that they've been in business.

I also picked up a growler of this same thing, except double dry hopped...I promptly re-bottled 22oz of it into two 12oz bottles with oxy-caps for side-by-side tasting on down the road.

I wish I could be more specific about the flavors...but a pint of the double dry hopped version has me a little tipsy. :drunken_smilie:

Nice. A buddy and I spent a good chunk of today brewing up 10 gallons of Pliny the Elder, so I can understand just how you're feeling, and oh boy, dry hops? Can't wait till this stuff comes out of primary so I can add another 7oz of hops to the already MASSIVE dose present. We drank some of that wort, made your mouth numb. Oh so good.

10 gallons?! That's amazing. I LOVE Pliny... ;D

Ok, after some more Lukcy, I read the side of one of the bottles. Like the name, it's jumbled and much harder to read under the influence. But, I now know what exactly this wonderful ale is (and why it's my favorite! ;D)

Basically, this is a "cuvee de bastard". It's a blend of Arrogant Bastard, Oaked Arrogant Bastard, and Double Bastard. Oaked A.B. is/was my favorite from Stone, closely followed by Double Bastard. I guess that explains the high ABV and why it tastes so deliciously familiar. :)

I never saw any Lukcy Basartd around here, but I do love Stone's Arrogant Bastard and Oaked Arrogant Bastard. The Lukcy Basartd sounds like a winner.
