We have been able to put together a mead-only event at Sunset Grill and Tap in Boston MA. This place has more mead in one restaurant, than probably all the restaurants in Boston combined (over 40 brands).

We have Brad from B.Nektar, Michael from Moonlight Meadery, Garth from Green River Ambrosia, and myself from Isaaks of Salem.

It is going to be one big mead party, pouring 'flights' of mead from all four meaderies, giving away lots of free tastes, and just generally having a really good time drinking mead, answering questions and talking with people all in one place, on one single day.

Please 'like' our facebook page, and share it on your facebook page so it hit's your wall. We are trying to get people excited for a great event that is entirely mead focused!

The mead fest was a total success. The owner of the bar said we got a much better turn-out than he expected. He said "next year we'll setup a better area". Which, I suppose, means he's open to making this a continuing event.

I just want to say thanks to IanB for not only putting together this great event, but also for letting me crash at his house while I was in town. This is a great business to be in when your "competitors" are are also your friends.

Cheers,

Brad

P.S. I'm even starting to talk like a Bostonian. I just learned the correct way to say Wicked Pissah. :)

It's great to hear it went so well, inch by inch it's guys like Ian and you who'll put a dent in people's ignorance about mead. ;D

IT was a great time

This was a great event, I think next year we will setup to actually 'sell' some mead to the customers after they taste rather than ask them to find a server (who is WAYY busy on a thursday night at Sunset). Maybe take-over the downstairs room entirely and make it the Mead Den or something??

Anyway here are some people having a GREAT TIME! Also, Brad was a great house-guest for those entertaining the idea of having him crash at your place while he is in town (although at our house I think he was more of a very nice guest in our guest room, rather than 'crashing' a-la-couch-surf-style)

Next year is gonna rock even more, and glad other people heard our guy at Sunset make those claims about Meadfest 2012, not just me, we need 3x the space he gave us for the crowds!
