Started a blueberry mel over the weekend for a friend. Trouble is, I ended up mixing three types of honey together. Situation:
Blueberry Mel Base (2 gallon batch)
2 lb buckwheat (or Aunt Sue's Raw)
4 lb OB (Sue Bee)
2 Cinnamon sticks
1 whole clove
Water to 2 gallons
Fermax and Energizer per instructions
EC 1118 yeast
I'm planning to ferment for about 2 weeks then rack onto 3 lbs of frozen blueberries.
Here's the catch -- yesterday, when I mixed the must, I realized I had bought too little of the OB. So I had 5 lbs. I ended up adding 1 lb of Dutch Gold Blueberry honey to the must.
Will the blueberry honey have any effect at all on the taste?
