I managed to get my hands on a bottle of this recently (thanks, Mike!) and opened it to try with GentleKnight when he came to visit.

The Mead of Poetry is a straight mead, without additives, made naturally. It comes in a tall, thin, steep shouldered bottle. My bottle experienced the vagaries of the airline industry, and I don't know what, if any changes occurred due to being in an airplane hold and jostled by airline handlers.

This mead was excellent. The aroma was redolent of honey, not too much, but very identifiable. The mead itself is medium-sweet, with excellent body. The taste is well balanced, with the sweetness and flavor of the honey offset by a touch of acid and tartness. I detected very little in the way of off-flavors.

All in all, on a scale of 100, I'd give this mead an 89-93. I will definitely be stocking some of this in my cellar for aging. I'm curious to see how it changes.

To order Rabbits Foot Mead, visit their website at http://www.rabbitsfootmeadery.com . It is distributed in a number of states, and is based in California.
