i found a bottle of some of their mead at a liquor store here. pretty darn good, sparkiling berry mel of some sort.

I've never had their mead before but from looking over their website I notice thaqt several of their meads are only 8% ABV. I wonder if they use an ale yeast to ferment these?

I live about ten minutes away from them, and have tasted many of their offerings. I think their mead is okay, but my only basis for comparison is my own batches. Some batches of theirs has a pronounced burnt plastic flavor typical of Montrachet yeast. Their reserves are good, but a bit pricey.

I picked some up from 5 Points Bottle Shop in Athens GA today, a fellow GM'er tipped me off to it. I tried the traditional, 12%, it's very sweet but very good in my uneducated opinion. The productions date on the bottle (grolsch style) is Sep 2008.

I just ordered from Them the boysenberry necter, Tradition mountain honey wine, and Vanilla and cinnamon mountain honey wine.

The necter was dry, with little or no flavor from the boysenberrys but alot of aroma of boysenberrys, no honey scent or taste. I thought that with 8% alcohol it should be sweet and tasty but it wasn't

The traditional mountain was amazing, It was sweet and really showed off the orange blossom honey. It was the best mead I have tasted to date. I dont know what yeast they used but I would love to try and replicate this.

I havent tried the cinnamon and vanilla yet but will let you know.

I think they use Montrachet yeast for all of their meads...if I remember correctly in talking with them last year.

I havent tried the cinnamon and vanilla yet but will let you know.

I think this was one of my favorites from them...after drinking it twice. It was not good when I had a head cold, but it was great when I wasn't sick!!
