Given the condensed time line from the previous season I'd say they'll probably do something with the 2nd Triumvirate and the conflict between Marcus Antonius, Octavian and the Senate (Cicero in particular who Antonius despised), and maybe even go far enough so that Octavian (soon to be Agustus) and Antonius get into their inevitable conflict and the eventual sea battle at Actium.
Should also be interesting to see how they work the historical marriage of Octavia to Antonius since he's currently professing his undying love for Attia! LOL Then of course we have Cleopatra VII to consider.
Ah, Rome, sex, booze, drugs ... all they really needed was some rock and roll!

I was a BIG fan of season 1.
My wife and I were lucky enough to be moving into our new house about the same time as it came on so when I got the cable hooked up I had HBO for free for a month. I ended up paying for a couple months just to keep watching.
I'll either have to get HBO back for the next season or wait for the DVDs... hard decision.
