Hey gang,

Does anyone have a good source online for Star Anise??

I am looking for the full flower...

Tried looking at grocery stores.. produce markets in SE Michigan... no luck..

There is this great Spiced apple recipe I want to try..

For fresh spices I like to use Penzeys Spices: https://www.penzeys.com
I don't know if there is one in your area but that would be ideal.
I cant vouch for the freshness of their shipped stuff but their in store stuff is fresh and a LARGE selection.
I would trust their spices over Amazon though.

Share the recipe so we can assist in your implementation.
If you don't have any Fermaid yet, get some.

I also get my spices from Penzeys. And I know for sure they have whole star anise.

I have made black and red liquorish flavored meads. I used the anise for red. If you post your recipe I might be able to recommend amounts based on your other ingredients and your desired profile.
