Okay, I'm a noob when it comes to brewing anything(except trouble;) ) and I found this recipe for mead and I was wondering if I could substitute the orange with meyer lemon and/or the raisins with craisins. The tinyurl link is: http://tinyurl.com/59sbno. Please tell me if you think my substitutions would work and if you think it would taste good.
 
You could probably subsitute the orange easily enough, but for this recipe I wouldn't mess with the raisins. It appears to me that those are being used for nutrient to some extent, and changing them out for craisins would provide a different set of nutrients that might or might not work well.

In general it's best to use real nutrients, such as Fermaid K or Fermaid O.

Welcome to GotMead! If you'd like, there are other quick recipes to make mead available on this board, that are tried and true and produce good results in about a month. Search for Joes Ancient Orange if you're interested.
 
You can make it using craisins and using a Meyer lemon, and it should be good. However, perhaps you should try making it using the regular recipe first so that you have a baseline. You can see the recipe the storm the castle one was based on if you look up Joe's ancient orange (if has some spice added as well).

I'd encourage you to check out the NewBee guide (see the link in the column to the left) as it is full of good info for new mead crafters.

I made a lemon-craisin mead based on Joe's Ancient Orange Mead once (similar to the recipe you posted the link to) and it worked out fine, I like using lemon and have done it again since, but you couldn't taste the handful of dried cranberries at all.

Speaking from experience, don't add less than the amount of honey stated. I used only 2 lbs and it's rocket fuel...
