Tapatalk bug - everybody please read

Hi guys.
A few times recently I've noticed the characters <-- used
Or --%<--
Unfortunately there's a bug in tapatalk, where it reads this "<--" as an HTML 'open' comment tag character. As it doesn't see another, the rest of the post is taken to be an HTML comment and is not displayed.
I've advised tapatalk of the problem, but until they act, can we please refrain from using these characters, it makes it very hard to work out what you're trying to say...

Ha! No wonder I was confused. After, "the characters," The rest of your post didn't show up while I was looking at it through tapatalk!

I was going to make it so they'd still print! Oh well. Teach me not to proof read my posts.
Can't believe how foolish I was!
For this who haven't looked at the post in a browser, the following symbol combination is problematic:
Less-than,hyphen,hyphen

< - -

I have placed spaces in this time, so they print.
 
Long time since I did web dev,
however I would swear the best-practice regarding user-submitted
content would be to replace all < by &#60; in code.

Replacing <-- with &#60;-- should also make the
<-- readable.

Edit: Hmm seems to auto-correct the ascii chars away.
I'm not sure why the <-- IS readable.
 
Sure would be, but clearly not a forum thing or a tapatalk thing.
It only happens when the three characters are together.
I don't care, just kindly asking people not to use those keystrokes for the moment, as it makes it hard for me to read your post.
 
Two users recently. The first is a 'snip' symbol representing missing quote text, favoured by one poster, the second was an 'arrow' pointing to some topic.
In the last two weeks I've seen 4 instances of it. Thus I thought I'd let everybody know.
