Eh, it'd be almost impossible to enforce. Here in Illinois, you're supposed to pay sales tax on anything you buy out of State. It's absurd, and no one does, but that's the law.
I'd like to see more about these cases that are supposedly striking down local laws. What laws are being struck down? What is the basis of the nullification?
The "Save the Children" monkeys have a semi-valid concern I suppose when they argue that underage people will be able to get booze by ordering it through the mail. The one time I ordered booze via mail*, UPS made me come in and present ID. However, how strictly is that enforced? Who watches to make sure UPS is checking IDs on stuff marked for 21+ receipt? I know the State liquor control agency goes around regularly, making sure all the booze sellers are checking ID. Do they ever do a run by UPS/USPS/FED Ex? Do they even have the legal authority to do so?

* Not relevent, but I was ordering from "Quady Winery" (www.quadywinery.com). They had the absolute best customer service in the world. Needed a particular wine for a romantic dinner, and my local shop screwed me over by not actually placing the order. So I ordered direct from Quady, then e-mailed them about expediting the order for an additional cost. They sent it out next day delivery, no extra cost, and included two extra bottles of wine for free. For the price, their wine is pretty good.
