So I have a batch of mead going. It's in it's second day. I got up this morniong to aerate/degas. It's in that stgae whith lots of foam. I stired it with my drikll and there was about 3-4 inches of foam on top. I dropped 1 orange worth of zest in it and turned around to zest a lemon. When I turned around to put the lemon zest in and the foam was entirely gone.
So two things. What is it, chemistry wise that made the foam go away?
And secondly, it seems this is a great anti foam piece!
