While I will revisit Mannye's T.A.R.D.I.S.(got to spell it right people!;-}) thread, I have a question for Mannye as well. Since you have used the wire bakers rack for bottle storage, any insight as to exactly what you used or made to safely store them on it? Any blueprints, templates, golden disc when placed on a staff that will reveal the exact location on a scale replica of the city, etc?? Thanks, Welshie.

It may look like a baker's rack but it isn't. These are restaurant shelving units that are used to hold everything from napkins to 5 gallon buckets of oil. I looked for these on Craigslist and got them for pennies on the dollar. They are very sturdy and I have no doubt that I could put massive amounts of weight in them even on the top shelf.

Of course I don't, but I would if I had to and if I tethered it to the wall to safeguard against tipping over. These shelves easily hold 5 fermenting buckets on one shelf. I keep primary buckets the second (eye level) shelf and secondary (glass carboys) on the bottom shelf.

I didn't do anything special to them. They can hold a LOT of weight. Top shelf is for empty bottles and under that I keep full bottles. Pretty soon I hope to have it all full of glass secondary since I'm moving the primary fermenting into the freezers (which when they aren't holding fermenting mead hold kegs)
