recipe: 12lb of BlackBerry blossom honey
5 gallons distilled water
2 packs of laven ec-1118, (i think thats the number)
2 cups clean and sanitized purred blackberries
1 pack of yeats nutrients

This is my first attempt at mead, after my primary fermentation i racked the mead into a secondary carboy and added the blackberries. The majority of Blackberry '' pulp'' settled to the bottom but after a few days these little white floaters ended up on top of my mead with small bubbles everywhere. It smells like normal alcohol with a hint of berry, and tastes like a dry wine. Thanks for your patience and sorry my English isn't the best.

thanks for the reply. I used 2 packs because i thought my initial fermentation was stuck (It was just a slow start). my guess is it is most likely just left over pulp/ excess yeast. I'll let it sit for a few weeks and see what happens. Once again thanks.

For your next batch (i'm sure this won't be your last) try adding energizer with your nutrients. You could also look up older posts about step feeding the nutrients/energizer to keep your yeast heathly and happy.

So is it done fermenting?
