Which 'nyms are you trying to figure out and maybe we can clarify for you? Other than that, none that I know of.
BOMM = Bray's One Month Mead, a rapid way to make a mead. Bray's username on this forum is loveofrose.
SNA = Staggered Nutrient Addition, a protocol for nutrient addition to a mead at specific stages to optimize yeast health and activity.
YAN = A famous TV chef, star of "Yan Can Cook"

DAP = Diammonium Phosphate, also called yeast nutrient

SG = Specific Gravity
FG = Final Gravity
OG = Original Gravity
The difference between your Original Gravity and your Final Gravity (as measured with a hydrometer) is used to calculate the % alcohol. ABV = Alcohol By Volume.
BJCB = Beer Judge Certification Program. Here is the BJCB Style Guide that provides the guidelines for judging of beers, meads and ciders. Meads are defined in guidelines 24-26.

And I think you mean JAO. Which stands for Joe's Ancient Orange. It's without a doubt the most frequently made (and of course, modified) mead recipe, as well as the topic of numerous forums and discussions. Named after Joe Mediola (sp?) The inventor.
Just a quick correction. The "A" stands for "Assimilable," as in "Yeast Assimilable Nitrogen." (not that it matters all too much for our purposes)

Another one that pops up quite often here is LHBS.. I've always assumed it meant "Local HomeBrew Shop", but could be "Supply" I guess.
This seems to be a pretty comprehensive list of generally accepted texting and Web posting shorthand. Not mead specific but still helpful.

Thanks, I just posted the "definition" from that site I found. "Assimilable" in this context does make more sense than "available."
