OK this might be a ridiculous question my recipe was 22 pounds of orange blossom hone

According to my calculations that's 10.48% alcohol but if I try to put an alcohol meter in it it only reads about 3 to 4% alcohol I'm assuming this is due to residual suspended solids but I'm not sure I've never seen this question answered before
 
Is this already fermented?

What are you using to measure the alcohol content?

Do you have a hydrometer? If so, what's the specific gravity?

What was your recipe and process?

If you used 22 pounds of honey and are expecting around 10.5% ABV, I'm guessing it's appro. a 10 gallon batch.......

Yes a 10gal batch and the hydrometer is at 1. 000 the Meade calculator says it should be about 10% but an alchometer says 4%

Did you get a starting gravity. If so you don't need your alchometer.
