Hello all!

We purchased this screwcap:

For this bottle

Dorica - leicht

However, we have a problem with the caps.

When putting the screwcaps on, we tighten them as very firmly, put after a day or two, the cap has losened itself, and can then be tighten again. This causes the bottle to leak (only a droplet or 2) when on its side. If we then try to tighten it again, the same thing happens a day or three later.

The error has been consistent throughout the batch we just made (1.500 bottles) so its not just a oneoff.

Is this something you guys have encountered before, if so do you have a solution?

I very much look forward to hearing from you. Thanks in advance!

I see no one who knows more than I has answered you. If it was happening to me I'd try placing a piece of tape on the cap stretched over both sides to adhere to the bottle. This might keep them from loosening.

Just for yucks, did you have 3 gravity readings in a row that were the same, before bottling?
Did you stabilize before bottling?
What was your final gravity?
They may be loosening because it's still fermenting. I bottled a coffeemel that carbonated itself, & that was after 3 months of stable readings. That said, I did not stabilize. Things have a funny way of happening when you don't stabilize before bottling.
I hope this helps.
Happy meading 😎
