Yes another thread by the annoying Sparked Tiger. This one is about fish. Literally. More specifically pet fish.

I was wondering if any of you have pet fish, what kinds they are and what is your preference of pet fish. Sorry to be so bloody nosy, but I am considering getting some pet fish if my landlady approves. Right now I am considering some neon tetras and turquoise guppies. They are rated as good for noobs like myself and are not too big.
 
I have goldfish. In a pond outside. When I was in college I had various Oscars. They were alot of fun. I used to catch flies for them, in little clear plastic cups, and partially submerge the cup upside down in the aquarium, so the fly was trapped in the bubble on the bottom of the cup. You can imagine what happen next. It use to be quite a show. You can't kill Oscars, nor angelfish, guppies, most freshwater fish. They're mostly Amazon natives and are tough as nails. Saltwater aquariums are much more involved.

Yeah, well I was about 20 years old! Later I acquired a sac-au-lait, (aka crappie) which I had caught, but he was a little small. I put him in that aquarium where he became the sole resident through attrition. The little convenience store nearby sold feeder goldfish to people who used them as bait, illegally. The owner was surprised to see my buying those, and he asked me why I wanted them. When I told him, he said he would just give them to me and he wouldn't even take my money. I would put them in that aquarium and they would rapidly disappear as if by magic. The fish moved so fast you couldn't see him consume them. He got to be too big and I ultimately released him after several months.
