yes we have quite a variety of fruits and honey available here in Hawaii from honey produced from the macadamia nut orchards to christmas berry and a whole slew of other local plants.. we have a wide variety of fruits such as strawberry guava , lilikoi , mangos, lychee,and noni fruit (which has been gaining popularity as a medicinal remedy). Of course there are places on the islands that grow such things as pineapple , bananas , papaya ,mountain apples, watermelons , cantaloupe, oranges, and grapes you know the basic widely available fruits..

we do have corn grown here year round as well (both gmo and non gmo) but i am not ready to try my hand at white whiskey just yet.

As for mead I am on my second batch and bottling up my first batch as i drink up some french "pop beverage" that come in 750ml swingtop bottles. I also tag each bottle with information as to what recipe I followed , what yeast i used , the date it was started and the date it was bottled.
