I'm making a samhain dinner and am looking for ideas for a Mead to go with it.
Here's the menu:

Creepy Canipes: halloween shaped bread, baked, with an interesting cheese spread
Molasses-Peper Venison Roast
Pumpkin Ravioli with Pumpkin seed Pesto (never had this before)
Oven-Roasted Parsnips & carrots
And Death by Chocolate cake for dessert

I'm thinking a cyser of some kind, but I'm open to other ideas.

My suggestions:

Creepy Canipes: halloween shaped bread, baked, with an interesting cheese spread
Molasses-Peper Venison Roast
For the above I'd go with a dry red wine pyment, dry blueberry, black currant or possibly a Porter braggot, stout braggot or semi-sweet spiced (nutmeg, cinamon, ginger)sack strength meth.

Pumpkin Ravioli with Pumpkin seed Pesto (never had this before)
Oven-Roasted Parsnips & carrots
Spiced cyser would go good with this. See my Mutiny on the Bounty Cyser and add allspice, vanilla and coriander.

And Death by Chocolate cake for dessert
Something in the way of a espresso/mocha/coffee mead with some peppery notes.

Hope that helps,

Oskaar
