Got a bottle of B Nektar Raspberry Pyment along with my first foray into buying commercials meads to get my palate trained. I must say that for being in a cultural wasteland, my local store had 9 different meads and even more honey based wines on hand.
Anyway... tried the Raspbeery Pyment from B Nektar and instantly liked it. Fresh and fruity with none of the cloying nature I expected. I don't quite know the recommended temp for this, so i started cold out of fridge, and kepst at it as it warmed and the air got to it.
As predicted, the flavors intensified as it warmed and I still liked it at close to room temp of low 70's. The glass didn't last beyond that. I had an inkling that it would be nice to blend a little bit of Irish whiskey into in and got a small glass filled it halfway and then poured about a finger of Tullamore Dew into it.
Yes indeed! Great combination. Something tell me i want to get a pint of Guinness and toss a jigger of this fortified Cyser into it! With or without Guinness it was very nice to drink.
