So I finally got around to ordering some more 1388 today for a braggot I plan to make. It's my first time doing anything beer-like, even though I'm an avid beer drinker
So I just had a couple questions...
Do you want to degass a braggot? I know you normally don't degass or aearate beers while they're fermenting, so I wasn't sure...
From a lot of the recipes I read, it seems like people aren't really racking their braggots. Is this common practice?
If I shouldn't degass, can I still open it every other day to check the gravity?
So far, the plan is to probably use Wheat DME, Carapils, and some German hops. With a little less than half the liquid volume of the wort as blueberry juice.
Using 1388 and probably Buckwheat honey.
Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!
