Carb Drops

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has ever used carbonation drops in place of priming sugars?
does anyone recommend them?

I was intending to try them out at some point as I'd seen them in my LHBS however haven't had the chance to check them out. If you do try them or someone does have experience with them, I'd be really interrested in the results.

Carbonation drops are made of the same thing that priming sugar is made of (dextrose aka glucose aka corn sugar), so they work perfectly well. the thing that i dont like about them is that for a 5 gallon batch you have to count out so damn many of them. for me its just easier to weigh out 5 oz of priming sugar (in powder form) with my kitchen scale.

The drops I bought just said to drop one in each of the bottles you are filling.

I think the drops will work fine, however, I feel that the powdered priming sugar is better because it can easily be sanitized by boiling it in a bit of water and is easy to use because you just dump the boiled solution directly into the bottling bucked with the beer. No worrying about having to put a drop in each bottle and no worry about contamination.

Carb drops seemed to work fine, took two weeks for a good carbination, but seemed fairly simple and easy.
