from Rocky Mountain Meadery

Allright let me preface this with a statement. I do not like meads that add wine to bring in the flavors they are seeking. This meadery did this twice once by using cherry wine instead of cherry juice, and secondarily by adding neutral grape spirits to boost the alcohol content.

Apperarace: Pours in with a very light red color bordering on orangish

Bouquet: Has a very strong cherry nose with a hint of chocolate in the back ground

Flavor: Hits the taste buds with a strong sour cherry flavor the chocolate is absent except in the aftertaste where it makes a slight appearance ( my wife describes it as a weak robotussin flavor)

The mead is drinkable and is best served chilled.

Overall score 75

Ummm, 75 what? I assume out of 100 but that still doesn't tell much without the scale.

Do you have a system by which you use to rate a mead?
