Just WTC out of a 6 gallon batch of American Mega Stout (Blackwine II from the latest Zymurgy) with my favorite Ryobi 18 Volt Cordless drill. Worked like a champ!!

I just made an adaptation of Jamil's Russian Imperial Stout at 1.095 and used my Makita 18v Lithium Ion drill to aerate it of works great b/c of the torque and speed. This one even has enough torque to manage my grain mill unless using something like wheat where I need my corded drill.

Ive got a really beat up 18v vsr dewalt that does a fine job for me. Dewalt is a bit more expensive but IMO lasts the longest (for drills anyways). Ryobi is good for our purposes but i dont think they last very long under tough conditions. I work at Home Depot and i see alot of them get returned with burnt up motors. If I were you i would ask for a dewalt or a milwaukee.

I use a corded drill - primarily because I burned up one cordless drill blending bulk honey :BangHead:.

Oh, and I did go up to a 1/2 inch drive unit after I let the magic smoke out of one corded drill - blending bulk honey... :BangHead: :BangHead:

I'm also mixing batches of 55 gallons of must, so I need and want the extra torque.
