I have a cyser going right now, about a month and a half old. It's made from a gallon of apple juice, an entire Granny Smith apple, two pounds of clover honey, and lalvin 1118, and was racked about three weeks ago. I actually have two identical batches going, but this one has this stuff in it. It wasn't there when I last checked on it, which was about a week and a half ago. I cleaned out the carboys and used Star San on everything. Could it be bacteria? I'll be putting some campden in it as soon as I get some- do you think this will take care of it? The second jug of mead is clean and clear, and is tasting pretty good. Any help is appreciated!

Looks like deposits of yeast or other particulates to me but definitely interesting that you've already racked and this is only present in the one, however. Do you notice any *off* aromas or flavors? Any other differences between the two batches?

I just did a smell and taste test, and the only difference is that the one with the white stuff is a little more alcoholic tasting, but nothing off or gross about it. I haven't added any enzyme or anything, just some campden when I get it.
It seems drinkable, so do you guys think I'm in the clear? Thanks for your help!
