Has anyone here tried making a cyser using apple pulp? A local cider mill in my hometown makes the best cider that I have ever tasted, and when they are done pressing the apples, they discard the pulp onto a compost pile. I'm not sure how much sugar would be left in the pulp after pressing, but I was curious about trying it in a small batch. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Another question, this time about bottling. If you buy a case of bottled water, can those plastic bottles be used for bottling mead? I think we go through enough bottled water that I would never have to reuse them more than once, but I'm just not sure if they should be used at all.

Thanks.

The paper thin water bottles like the Poland Springs one I'm sipping on now isn't something I'd want anything alcoholic in. The heavier bottles like Coke or Sprite come in would be OK, I know people who do hard cider in them, but I wouldn't do long term storage of mead even in those.
