I thought this mead was really excellent. Of all of the commerical meads I have tried these last few months (about 30, and too many at once... ;) ).

Very strong. Probably I would think was a Polish mead of sorts if I knew more. Very sweet, yet a clean finish. I am going to guess at 20%+ and 1.050 finish I suspect. The real mead experts can fill in the details.

Drinking that twice has got me to make 6g of 24# mead using a strong yeast, light and dark honeys, and go for some aging. I don't plan on putting that one in wine bottles, needs more like beer bottles and 02 caps. Just too strong in that bottle. How long does an open bottle last for until it goes bad from 02?
 
I thought that mead was almost too sweet. Its like aged syrup/vodka/honey on oak. I don't taste hops in there.

But then I got a hopmonster on tap right now with a 100 ibus or so. My usual is an IPA when out on the town.
 
I thought I got a little bit of a hops taste in the finish. I actually like the sweeter meads for the most part so the sweetness level was pretty much spot on. The ABV content of this one definitely snuck up on you if you weren't watching as well. :drunken_smilie:
 
This was the favorite at a tasting at my house several months ago. We had another from Dansk made with carraway honey and spices (going by the taste carraway seed as well) which was not as tasty. I have a third variety waiting our next gathering. :cheers:
 
Yeah that carraway was something else?!!?!?!!

Not to my liking.

Anyone know of another mead out there availabe in the US like this one?
