Sparkaloid is a fining agent. It is a powder that is heated in water and then added to a finished mead that has not cleared naturally in a reasonable priod of time. It usually clears the mead within a week. Information can be found here:

An airlock is merely a device that allows air (CO2) to escape from the carboy and prevents oygen from entering. It can be viewed here:
