Hey Guys and Gals,

so I'm posting this about 2-3 weeks after my first post on this forum, and I can barely contain myself cause my fermax just came in. I finally have a source of real nutrients for my yeasties. I have everything to make a real fermentation with honey. This is a freakin awesome moment for me. Thank you guys for your knowledge that I've gotten through this forum.

I'm sorry that my answer to the veterans (after my first post) didn't get posted after I spent about 2 hours writing it. I figure it must have been a system error. I thoroughly regret that unfortunate event.

That being said, I want to tell you I just busted open my JAOM from about a month ago (first batch ever, 5 gals), and shared a glass with my buddies. Though still young and raw in flavor, I could see the bones of a well-balanced mead in the making. What I'm doing gives me such pleasure it almost brings tears to my eyes.

I want to use this post to thank all the Mead Brothers and Sisters.

Cordially,

Bitsurfer88

Good for you friend. Do not rehydrate with that. Just use nonchlorinated water for that. Fermax has DAP in it and DAP is toxic to yeast during fermentation

If you can’t get GoFerm in India then use spring water and some yeast hulls (if you can get it)

I wouldn't add the hulls until they have rehydrated and have a viable cell membrane.
