I went out and bought some SuperKleer. What an excellent investment! In 4 days and after stirring twice my mead is, as the label says, brilliantly clear, and that "slight something" flavor is completely gone. Now I know the yeasty taste to look out for.

I now have:

1 gallon with French oak medium+
1 gallon with American oak medium
1 gallon with Hungarian oak medium
1 gallon as a control

I backsweetened 1 gallon some more and bottled it, and bottled the remaining gallon. This mead is great now. I'm looking forward to seeing how it improves with time.

Do you all have a preferred aging temperature? I've had everything in a room that's been in the 30's and 40's (F) for a couple months now. Originally it was my cold crashing solution but now it's just convenient.
