OMG. now i'm afraid with the result, hope that it don't result too bad how i am thinking. For my next mead i will follow the original- original recipe and see the diferences.

Don't worry. It's all part of learning. Save the first one and use it to blend with other things. Or who knows? Maybe you will like the result. However, 8 cloves in one gallon is A LOT of clove.

:) :) :)

So before I knew better I made a mead with way too many cloves as well. I also used clover honey. I was afraid it would be eventually dumped. Everything I had ever read said not to dump any mead for any reason. So I saved it. I ended up naming it "cloverdose" . At the one year mark I went back and found it and tasted it and it was fabulous. So. Over time it will fade back some

Hello friends! Today I made the first rack and tasted the mead. It was delicious! Semi dry and the taste of clove did not stay strong. I am very happy and proud. Now I'm going to leave another month in the carboy and then I'll bottle and grow old. Thank you all for your attention and support!

Congratulations! I'm glad to hear it came out good! Maybe the cloves were older or just not that strong or you love the taste of cloves. Either way it's a great result.

Make more mead!
