How do you drink your Mead?

Thats a pretty good idea. Even after cleaning the horn its still has this skin coating on the inside that needs to be sanded. Im too lazy for all that so ill coat it really good in bees wax. I bought a lb of the stuff.

Forever Alone. I know the feeling thats how I drink my mead too lol.
 
Go to a hardware store, ace carries it, and look for Envirotex Lite. It is food "safe". There is no epoxy "approved" for food contact. This is as close as it comes. It is what bar tops are made of. Mix up a bit and put it in the horn. Sit and roll the horn keeping the stuff rolling and coating evenly. After about an hour it will finally set up and you can set the horn down to finish drying. A couple to days later it is ready to wash out and drink from. This is what I put in my drinking horns.

We have a group horn that is used for drinking circles. It holds a little more than 2 bottles. It is natural with no coating. People say the it "mellows" the mead when drinking from it. It does affect the flavor some. Mellow is as good as any word. ;)

I have 2 of my own horns. One is about 12-14 ounces. The other is 4 feet tall. It holds 5 bottles of mead! I only used it a couple of times. More for show than use. :p

What kinda horn is 4 feet long lol. Did you travel back in time and kill a wooly mammoth? But seriously I have heard of that sealent before but im thinking I will only use bees wax or nothing at all like your one horn.
 
I drink my mead in massive quantities from a large stoneware mug.

But only because I don't have a large drinking horn.

My biggest regret is that a wine bottle only holds a little over one mugfull.
 
I've recently unearthed some old earthenware mugs from Spain that have the word "Fria" written on them. They resemble wooden barrels and hold about 1.5 pints. The word literally means "cold" but in slang it means beer or more accurately "a cold one" as in "I'm having a cold one" which could only be understood as a cold beer. These are now my go-to mead glasses. And that whole "I did what?" thing hold very true for them!
 
Frio is 'cold'. Fria refers to a cold one like you say.

This is common. Chico is 'small' chica is 'young lady'
Chicita is 'cute little thing'
My cousin's dog is called 'chicitita' itsy bitsy cutesy wootsy thing.

And yes it's a tiny terrier.
And it bites.
 
I like to see my mead so I drink it from a glass. I always called them juice cups, but they are just small glasses that hold about 1/3 of a bottle of mead. I find if I split a bottle with my wife that is just about right.

I also like to drink it slow as I find I get more of the honey essence that way, and that is what I like. Some times I even roll it over my tongue a couple times to really savor it. Swallow, then breath out slowly through my mouth. It is kind of invigorating.

That got me really wanting to open a bottle of mead.
