Couple weeks is the standard. How many atmospheres of pressure were you going for? If you're not in a rush 3+ would probably do.
If you have a high ABV or are near the yeast tolerance it can take quite a bit longer. If you bottle one in a PET plastic soda bottle you can monitor the progress relatively easily.

I've had things in the 10-11% abv range take 4 months to fully carbonate. The PET bottle idea is a good one.
Another +1 on the PET idea, although I usually just use a screw-top bottle and check it after two weeks, if it's carb'd enough, good to go, if not, leave it another week or two. But I've really only done hydromels so I'd expect it to take longer at a higher alcohol content.
