Hi all, just a quicky as i can't get my head around the calculator.

Recipe.

3.5lb honey topped off to 1 gallon
Bread yeast
20 raisins
Zest and juice of 1 small lime
2 cloves
1 cinnamon stick

My starting gravity came out at 1.100. Where should i expect it to finish ?

I've done a few successful 1 gallon batches to date, but i've just left them to finish fermentation themselves, rather than rely on my hydrometer, but i'd like to keep more of an eye on this new batch.

Thanks in advance. :)

Hum? Well I did alternative citrus batches of JAOM some years back.

The Orange is (as usual) fine. Lemon worked well too. Lime wasn't/didn't.

I don't know if yours will turn out ok or not. You used zest and juice, I used whole fruit sliced as usual....

Thanks McJeff.

Fatbloke. My best mead to date was made with zest, flesh and juice from a lime. Strange that yours didn't turn out too good. Maybe the pith was the fly in the ointment ?

Personally i'm not too keen on mead with orange in it, it seemed to override the other flavours for me, being a bit too "orangey".
