Juniper BOMM - Need Advice

A friend of mine who I recently got into Mead making wants to use Juniper berries in a BOMM he is starting next week. Modeling it after a Lithuanian Mead he found online.

The recipe will be for a 1.5 gallons
4lbs honey - most likely OB or Clover (would it matter?)
Tap water to 1.5 gallons
Wyeast 1388
3.2 tablespoons dried hops
1 tablespoon dried juniper berries

Any input would be welcome.

I would highly suggest 4.5 lbs of orange blossom honey. Orange blossom would compliment the juniper berry better than clover. This would give an SG of 1.12 which is easily taken dry. You can step feed to add sweetness if it needs it.

Bottled water is typically better, but if the tap water doesn't contain chlorine (well water), it can be fine.

I would highly suggest tasting the mead regularly so you can rack before the juniper gets too intense. After 10 days on juniper, taste everyday.

I hope it's understood, but just in case... Be sure to add the SNAs and K2CO3!
