Nicely done! Great article too, one of the better ones I've read actually in regard to discussing what mead can be like, why many people who's tried it haven't liked it and how to fix that.

Thanks. I made sure I spoke with the reporter in depth on that issue. He wants to do updates frequently and we're planning on offering a few different types (a lighter traditional, a heavier / darker traditional, Bochet, chocolate, blackberry, etc.) so
hopefully people can find something they enjoy.

Thanks for pourig for CF. It's a devastating diagnosis and a worthy cause. Kids are smiling at you.

I've been involved with our Brewing Up A Cure (http://brewingupacure.org/index.html)
for the last 4 years. This year is the first year for commercial status. Can't do a lot right now other than to promote the event and donate time and mead, but anything I can do to help I will do!

Congrats Matt! Are they doing growler fills at Piper's? I've your botchet before and it's AWESOME.. can't wait to try it again.

No growler fills there, yet. I'm going to the TRUB (homebrew group) picinc in North Park today, I'll most likely have some there though. :) Were working on a tasting room, so hopefully soon we'll be able to do that.

This makes me ;D

I'm from the Uniontown area and would love to have mead on tap at several places. You mentioned talking with Bocktown, is that the one in Robinson, by the mall?

Also the article was great in pointing me to the local honey. I've been looking for a better choice than Dutch Gold and Sams Club SueBee bulk. I'm hoping they'll be able to have fair prices.

Hope to be updated!

Good luck and wishing you the best.

I'm very bummed! I saw the article in the P-G the day before I headed back to DC!

I'll have to make sure I stop by Piper's or go out your way, when I'm home for Thanksgiving...

Good Luck!

Thanks, Dave! We are pouring at Piper's Pub in the Southside, talking with Bocktown, and hopefully 2 or 3 places in Greensburg soon. Doing a mug club tasting at Rivertowne Pourhouse tomorrow, too.
How did the tasting go at the Pourhouse? Very well I would expect.

Hopefully the Rivertowne Pourhouse in North Huntingdon will let you do one closer to home.

I was at the Pourhouse in Monroeville this past Saturday for the Steelers game with my son who just turned 21 in June. We split a couple of their beer "sampler platters". I like that place a lot. I really hope they decide to make your mead available full time.

Matt,

I happen to be in the 'burgh this weekend. Is there anywhere that I can go to buy a bottle of your mead, or is all still just at bars/restaurants?

Thanks!

Merry

If you're around Sunday or Monday still, we can probably hook up.
It's at Pipers Pub in the South Side, Rivertowne Pourhouse in Monroeville,
and Bocktown in Robinson (and soon Monaca.)

Let me know, I'm always willing to help get our mead to people!
