I am new to mead (making and drinking it). While I was in Scotland a while back I bought a bottle of Lindisfarne mead. I was just wondering if any of the more educated people around here had an opinion about this commercially made mead. I have drank some of it, thinking it was quite pleasant, but as of yet I am quite ignorant of what a good mead should taste like. Anyone care to offer some comments?
 
Just an update for anyone who is following this thread. I was doing some digging and found out, much to my horror, that the Lindisfarne mead is a "meade" and not really a mead. The bottle that I have and some vague wording on their site seems to indicate that their "mead" is actually wine with honey added, rather than a true mead. So I guess this puts it in the "meade" catagory. While the stuff is quite drinkable, I think, I was kinda disappointed by finding this out.. though i guess thats why it had that kinda "white wine stink" hanging over it as it was poured.
