Hey all,

I've got a friend who wants to make some sort of blueberry beer. I have some general ideas--I've done a blackberry amber before. But I'd love to see a tried-and-true recipe if anyone has one. Suggestions also welcome!

Thanks,
Aaron

Hey, Aaron. I don't have any blueberry beer recipes, but you can probably roll your own based on what you want to end up with, and your experience with the blackberries. Remember that the blueberry flavor will be more subtle, so you'll need more blueberries than the amount of blackberries that you used in order to get a similar fruit "presence."

If you decide to concoct your own recipe, let us know how it turns out.

The current plan is to go off a modified version of the blackberry ale. Since I've done it before, I'm pretty sure it will work. Going to buy ingredients this week, we'll see when we have time to brew. I'm a little worried about balancing the tartness without overpowering the blueberry flavor, but we'll see how it goes.
