Now, the title of the article was not my idea (flame suit on!) but this is an article that made front page of the business section in our local backwater. Please 'Like' the article or post a comment. I know you may not have tried the wine before, but doing this gets us higher in the search posts and better google rankings.

Please support this local Meadery, and as always I will continue to share everything I know with this forum.

Enjoy!

Congratulations on the article, (and on getting your product in several stores)!

I was happy to see the word mead used at least once in the article, but I think that just emphasizes the hurdle to be overcome to establish mead as a distinct beverage rather than as a variety of wine. I'm not sure that it can be overcome if the TTB requires labeling as "honey wine" and perhaps some effort needs to be directed toward changing that requirement.

Time to make a batch called "There are no grapes in here" Honey Wine. Ah well, the writer probably also thinks Bud really is the king of beers. In any case, any publicity is good publicity, or so they say. Sounds like you're off to a great start!

I left a comment, should be up after the moderators check it for spam. Nice to see exposure for you for sure - I too was waiting to see if the word mead was even going to be in the article though! Was nice to see some talk about the uniqueness of your honey source, which I think is a great interest-getter for meads.

Wow...

Thank you for all the support. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. Most news stories 'develop' from the local level into regional and then national stories. If the article gets a lot of comments/likes/interest, it shows there may be an appetite for a larger audience. This is the best way to make national news. That is why I asked for everyone's help.

As to the title...I am as disappointed as all of you....however, at least people know there IS a wine in our area, and if it is made from honey all the better. Later they can learn that it is actually Mead, but for now, a 'local wine' is all I want people to understand.

Anyway, back to the grindstone, need a recipe for 'No Grapes Here' our next and newest batch with GRAPE EXPECTATIONS!...

A special thanks to AToE for posting a comment. :)
