Googling about I stumbled upon this page of reviews and thought it may be of interest, mainly to UK folk:

Particularly of interest is he lists a few dry meads. And the fact he reviews them implies most of them are available over here, although the reviews themselves are pretty minimalist. The dressing up looks fun too!

Love the symbols for ratings. Thanks Maeloch. What have you been making lately?

It's a shame, I had a google of a couple of em which sounded nice, but looks like most are only available locally and not for sale online.

A 'Hedgerow mead' was my latest batch, blackberry, elderberry, rasberry and blueberry (last is cheating). I've been moving to the darkside making beer lately...but at least it keeps me occupied and stops me tampering with the mead while it ages.

Well, whoever produced the page did a better job of finding meads here, that I've managed to do so far. Though I suspect that it's a bit out of date i.e. Gales were bought out by Fullers (Chiswick) some years back. Plus Moniack Mead, while the best of the sweet ones I've managed to get my hands on, now seems to be owned by Lyme Bay.

It'd be great to get hold of some of the Polish ones listed to give them a try, as well as some of the few dry ones listed........

Bloody annoying that mead seems to be even more "niche" here than it is in the US, especially as we don't have to put up with the bollocks of shipping across state borders that they do in the US......

Heh ho!

We have that shite in Canada as well. It's only now that interprovincial free trade of wine and beer is beginning to gain momentum. BC now allows people from other provinces to ship wine in but although we allow Ontario wine to be shipped into BC Ontario still doesn't allow out of province wine to be shipped in without onerous duties so it's still very patchwork and needs a lot of improvement. Until recently, liquor boards across Canada seem to have been run by The Women"s Temperance League in conjunction with the Amish.
